Quick Access to Important Test Results
As part of our comprehensive approach to service and care, Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital runs an in-house laboratory to provide test results quickly and efficiently. Our range of diagnostic testing includes:
Blood chemistry panel
This series of tests provides information about your pet’s internal organs and metabolic health. This is useful in screening for liver or kidney disease and assesses current levels of sodium, potassium, and chloride in your pet.
Complete Blood Cell Count (CBC)
This test reveals the number and condition of your pet’s red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. A CBC can be used to indicate anemia, infection, or issues with blood clotting.
Examining your cat or dog’s stool helps in identifying the presence of parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms.
With only a small sample, we can learn much about your pet’s kidney function or look for evidence of a urinary tract infection or diabetes. This test is often performed along with a CBC and chemistry panel to provide a complete picture of your pet’s overall health.
